Nurse B - Community Mental Health Nurse

As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - 3 years experience in a community or acute mental health setting Education - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training - Workplace Assessment & Violence Education (WAVE) - Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable - Professional Assault Response Training (PART) - Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable - Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) - Nursing diploma is acceptable - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Competencies - Advanced - Communication skills - Advanced - Organizational skills - Advanced - Change management skills - Advanced - Facilitation skills - Basic - Presentation skills - Basic - Computer skills - Advanced - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to be flexible and willing to change - Knowledge in developing policies, procedur...
