Supporting patient rehabilitation connects your practical skills directly to daily recovery efforts during vital stages of patient care. As an Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant, Reactivation Care Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital, you will assist therapists in delivering treatment plans that rebuild physical capability. Learning directly from Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists gives you insight into the clinical reasoning behind treatment decisions. This broadens your professional scope, building a foundation grounded in two distinct approaches to recovery. Your involvement in patient transfers, therapeutic exercise, and progress charting makes you an active contributor to a patient's progress toward independence.   Practicing at the Reactivation Care Centre pairs small-team agility with direct access to main-site departmental supports. In this setting, you assist patients during their transition from acute hospital stays into focused restorative care. Working within an interdisciplinary satellite environment broadens your exposure to post-acute goals, accelerating your practical skill development. Here your contributions will support vital care continuity, giving patients the momentum needed to safely transition from hospital care back toward community living.   Is this you? Are you someone who takes satisfaction in getting the details right? You apply protocols exactly as prescribed, noting any change in a patient's response and documenting it accurately every time. That same discipline carries into how you manage your day, keeping exercise programs, equipment checks and workload records organized across every patient on your list. This precision and structure give physiotherapists and occupational therapists the confidence that a plan will be carried out exactly as intended, no matter how many patients are on your list.   You excel at reading the clinical environment and anticipating needs before they are explicitly requested. Taking a proactive approach, you ensure exercise equipment, mobility devices, and positioning supports are fully prepared to meet the specific requirements of both the supervising therapist and the patient. During active care, your sharp observational skills allow you to proactively adjust setups and assistance as therapist directives evolve or patient comfort changes.   Clear and effective communication is essential to how you carry out tasks for your assigned treatment plans. You have a talent for breaking down therapist-directed routines into clear, manageable steps, supervising patients through routine exercise programs and guiding them as simple treatment modalities are applied. That same clarity carries into how you organize and run group programming, facilitating collaborative sessions that keep patients motivated alongside their peers. By offering clear feedback and actively listening, you foster trust and keep patients engaged in reaching their restorative care milestones.   About this team: The Reactivation Care Centre (RCC) offers therapeutic care to help patients rebuild strength, independence and confidence.
