Accounts Receivable Technician
About this job
At BPA, we're creating a new position to centralize accounts receivable follow-up across our offices in Canada. You'll become the go-to person for unpaid invoices. You won't just send generic reminders: you'll understand each file, find the real reason behind non-payment, and coordinate the solution with the right people.
If you enjoy taking ownership of a portfolio, digging into the details of a file, and seeing overdue accounts go down thanks to your work, this role is for you.
What you'll do
Follow up daily on client accounts and unpaid invoices, starting with the oldest.
Communicate with clients, in French and English, to confirm receipt of invoices and understand the reasons for non-payment or disputes, where applicable.
Coordinate file resolution with project managers and the billing team.
Perform reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and help resolve them.
Document your follow-ups and produce the accounts receivable follow-up report.
Open new client accounts in the ERP system.
What we're looking for
Experience in accounts receivable.
DEC in accounting or in business administration.
Bilingual in French and English, spoken and written. You'll work with both our French- and English-speaking offices.*
Comfortable with Excel and working with large volumes of data.
Ability to organize data and build reliable tables.
Autonomy, organizational skills, curiosity, and strong priority management.
Comfortable handling sometimes delicate conversations with clients who dispute an invoice.
Experience in the engineering or construction sector (asset).
*English is essential due to the shared service and to maintain an acceptable ratio among the incumbents of certain positions in order to ensure effective coordination and service offering within the organization.
Why BPA

Collaboration with project managers from multiple disciplines and teams across Canada.
An approachable manager who listens and whose door is always open.
A hybrid work environment in Laval.
