Nurse Practitioner

The Nurse Practitioner supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authority and is responsible for assessment planning, delivery and evaluation of health care services to the long term care residents and clients in the multipurpose beds of The Yorkton & District Nursing Home. This is done in collaboration with the family physicians, other health care providers, community organizations and programs and the resident and their family. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - 3 years experience as an RN in primary care, public health or acute care Education - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training - Nursing diploma is acceptable - Master of Nurse Practitioner is acceptable - Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP) Competencies - Advanced - Analytical skills - Advanced - Decision making skills - Facilitation skills - Teaching skills Knowledge and Abilities - Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. - Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care - Ability to be self directed and work relatively independently - Ability to make sound decisions on complex issues relating to chronic conditions - Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required - Abil...
