Emergency Medical Technician

Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medial Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) - Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) - Current CPR certification Competencies - Basic - Interpersonal skills - Verbal communication skills - Written Communication Skills - Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) - Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues - Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis - Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking - Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care - Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively - Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions - Ability to be resilient - Ability to function effective...
