The assistant department manager&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;supervising staff and ensuring the smooth operation of the department&rsquo;s daily activities, including merchandising, loss/fraud management, standards&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;and&nbsp;customer service. They&nbsp;assist&nbsp;the&nbsp;manager with management of inventory,&nbsp;purchasing,&nbsp;and the department&rsquo;s profitability in collaboration with management.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Here&rsquo;s&nbsp;where&nbsp;you&rsquo;ll&nbsp;be focusing:&nbsp;

Carry out day-to-day management activities within the department in collaboration with the department manager.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Provide team members with the necessary feedback to ensure their professional development and achieve established&nbsp;objectives.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Adhere to the banner&rsquo;s standards and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;its image.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Work with cashiers to provide exceptional customer service.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Apply policies and procedures,&nbsp;comply with&nbsp;government health guidelines and occupational health and safety standards, and ensure they are consistently applied and adhered to by all department employees.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Organize and&nbsp;participate&nbsp;in training sessions and motivate team members.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Create a work environment that promotes trust and communication within your team.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Manage loss prevention (waste, theft, loss of inventory, breakage) in collaboration with the department manager.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Adhere to department budgets.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Perform any other related duties.&nbsp;&nbsp;

What you have to offer:&nbsp;

You have a high school diploma; a college diploma would be an asset.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You have at least two years of years of experience in a retail environment or in the applicable department.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You have valuable management experience and knowledge of point-of-sale computer systems.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You are customer&nbsp;service-oriented.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You foster communication and team spirit.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You are proficient with basic accounting operations.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You stand out for your leadership,&nbsp;energy&nbsp;and creativity.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Flexible work hours and ability to work overtime&nbsp;&nbsp;

Short-term exposure to chemicals and cleaning products&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ability to stand for extended periods of time&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ability to&nbsp;lift up&nbsp;to 20 kg&nbsp;&nbsp;
