OVERVIEW: The Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) serves as a key support resource during the Fanshawe Student Union (FSU) Elections process. This role focuses on candidate support, student engagement, voter education and election promotion to encourage participation in student governance. The DRO helps create a positive, accessible and engaging election experience for all students. The DRO role is not responsible for receiving or reviewing complaints and/or issuing demerit points to candidates. Success in this role includes supporting candidate recruitment efforts, increasing awareness of elections, contributing to voter engagement initiatives and providing impartial support throughout the election process.
