Emergency Medical Technician

Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training - Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies - Interpersonal skills - Conflict resolution skills - Verbal communication skills - Written Communication Skills - Listening skills - Basic - Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations - knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice - Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively - Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement - Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care - Familiar with the SK...
