Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician-PCP is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergent calls for service, provide initial assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured persons. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Other Education and Training - Current Basic Life Support-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(BLS-CPR) certification Competencies - Interpersonal skills - Verbal communication skills - Writing skills - Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities - Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking - Ability to work independently and as a member of a team - Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. - Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice - Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis - Ability to function effectively in periods of high stress/emergent situations - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) - Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care - Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to c...
