Emergency Medical Technician

Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training - Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) - Current CPR certification - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies - Basic - Interpersonal skills - Verbal communication skills - Listening skills - Written Communication Skills Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively - Ability to work independently and as a member of a team - Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice - Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) - Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues - Ability to be resilient - Ability to exhibit situational awareness - Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to ...
