Social Worker Degree

Under the direction of the Manager, and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker BSW provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - Experience working with mental health and addiction community outreach Education - Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies - Cultural competency - Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies - Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups - Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner. - Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems - Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills - Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation - Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions - Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure - Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management. - Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduc...
