Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician-PCP is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergent calls for service, provide initial assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured persons. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education - Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses - Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training - Current Basic Life Support-Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(BLS-CPR) certification - Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED) - International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies - Listening skills - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities - Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis - Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. - Knowledge of legislation, protocols & scope of practice applicable to EMS in SK - Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions - Ability to exhibit situational awareness - Demonstrate responsible decision-making supported by strong critical thinking - Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively - Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues - Ability to be resilient - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/E...
