Nurse Practitioner

In collaboration with the health team, the primary health nurse will provide primary health services to the community. This includes: health promotion and protection, disease and injury prevention, provision of supportive, instructive, treatment and emergency services; collaboration with and referral to other health care professionals; initiating and participating in community development initiatives and participating in evaluative projects. Human Resources Exemption: No Multi-Site: - Yes Experience - One year experience in community needs assessment/development/health promotion - Three years fulltime experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training - BLS for Healthcare Provider (Level C) - Heart and Stroke Competencies - Critical thinking skills - High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues - Decision making skills - Leadership skills - Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to provide holistic care to individuals,families & the community - Ability to demonstrate initiative, independent judgment & organizational skills - Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care - Highly developed written and oral communication skills - Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change.
