Purpose: The Fabricator is responsible for safely supporting production operations through fabrication, welding, and material preparation activities. As well as, helping to maintain a safe and organized facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Demonstrate conduct consistent with Vulcraft Canada Inc.'s core values.
· Weld using MIG welding process.
· Work collaboratively as a team member to achieve production goals.
· Operate efficiently to reduce material losses and optimize production.
· Use various tools including a band saw, hand grinder, or other manual and electric tools as required.
· Accurately measure and mark the material for assembly / cutting / welding according to the plans.
· Ensure quality standards are consistent with Vulcraft policy.
· Interpret drawings, including weld symbols.
· Work accurately with both the metric and imperial systems.
· Use oxygen / acetylene torch.
· Perform other duties as required by supervisor and/or management.
· Communicate information during shift changes to ensure quality and production objectives are met.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
· Strong commitment to safety for self and others.
· Previous experience in MIG welding process desired.
· Able to or willing to learn to operate CNC plasma machine.
· Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work effectively in a team.
· Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
· Able to handle physical workload and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Overhead Crane and forklift certified or willing to get certified.
· Able to or willing to learn maintenance tasks in the plant.
· Must have basic to advance math skills.
· Experience with using a band saw or willing to learn.
· Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime to support operational demands.
