Reporting to the Vice President, Regulatory Affairs, the Associate Vice President, Policy & Stakeholder Engagement provides strategic leadership for the Council's policy and engagement functions. The role is responsible for policy stewardship, stakeholder engagement, governance support, and evidence-informed decision-making related to Alberta's safety codes system. The AVP leads a team of professionals, builds relationships with government, regulators, industry partners, and Council bodies, and provides strategic advice on complex issues affecting public safety and organizational priorities. The role translates diverse perspectives and information into practical recommendations, supports executive and governance decision-making, and fosters a collaborative and accountable team culture.
