Morning Baker / Catering Assistant

-Prepare daily baked goods (scones, muffins, cookies, etc.) following established recipes and quantities. -Check product flavour, texture, appearance, portion size, and doneness. -Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products properly. Catering preparation: -Assist with preparing breakfast caterings, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and other catering menu items. -Follow order sheets carefully, including quantities, dietary requirements, presentation standards, and pickup or delivery times. -Assist with other kitchen preparation as required. Kitchen operations: -Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout the shift. -Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures. -Wash dishes and clean equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas as part of daily duties. -Use ingredients and equipment responsibly and report quality or maintenance concerns. -Work respectfully with kitchen and front-of-house staff to keep daily operations running smoothly. -Experience in commercial baking, food prep, or a professional kitchen. -Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management. -Clear communication and a willingness to take direction and respond to feedback. -Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. -Food safety certification is an asset. Physical requirements: -Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive kitchen tasks. -Ability to safely handle trays, ingredients, and kitchen equipment, with accommodation where needed.
