Social Worker Degree

Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - 1 year recognized postgraduate experience in community MHAS Education - Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Competencies - Cultural competency - Written Communication Skills - Interpersonal skills - Verbal communication skills Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty. - Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies - Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies - Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions - Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships - Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems - Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting - Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy - Able to...
