Nurse B - Registered Nurse

Competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status. Demonstrates a caring approach which reflects and incorporates expertise. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - 2 yrs exp in Acute Psych or Comm. Mental Health nursing or a combo of the two. - Exp in the last 5 yrs with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders - Exp in the last 5 years in psychiatric assessment & intervention required Education - Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) Other Education and Training - Basic CPR, ASSIST preferred - Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable - Nursing diploma is acceptable - Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable Competencies - Advanced - Interpersonal skills - Advanced - Organizational skills - Advanced - Assessment skills - Advanced - Planning skills Knowledge and Abilities - Knowledge in client psychosocial living needs and interventions - Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships - Knowledge in mental health assessment systems - Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures - Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community - Ability to develop, evaluate and modify programming provided to clients - Ability to adapt to changing conditions - Knowledge in applicable health promotion and health prevention ...
