Nurse Practitioner

The Primary Health Nurse Practitioner RN(NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience - Experience as RN (NP) in a Primary Health Care setting preferred. - Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area - Previous experience in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) - Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse Education - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license Memberships - College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Other Education and Training - Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies - Teaching skills - Advanced - Communication skills - Research skills - Advanced - Time management skills - Orga...
